Ornella Rossetto, PhD

Prof. Ornella Rossetto, PhD, is Professor of General Pathology at the Medical School of the University of Padova (Italy) and Director of the PhD Course in Biomedical Sciences. She received her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Pathology in 1995.

Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of botulinum neurotoxins at the neuromuscular junction and within the enteric nervous system. She is also involved in studying how these neurotoxins can be used as tools to investigate peripheral synaptic plasticity induced by neuroparalysis. Prof. Rossetto has collaborated extensively with clinicians using botulinum toxin type A for a wide range of human pathologies.

From 2018 to 2025, she served as Associate Editor of the international journals Toxicon/Toxicon X. She has also been an active member of the scientific committees of multiple conferences organized by the International Neurotoxin Association (INA) and the International Society of Toxinology (IST).
