How do I register for the conference?

A.

To register, please click the link “TOXINS 2021 Virtual Registration” in the menu and follow the instructions provided.

Is there group registration?

A.

No, group registration is not possible. Each registrant will receive a personal link to log into the conference.

Will there be a registration fee?

A.

No, there is no charge for registration.

Q.

When is the registration deadline?

A.

What is the timing of the conference?

A.

The conference will be held from10:00 AM–2:30 PM US EST (15:00–19:30 GMT) (16:00-20:30 CET) on 16 January 2021.

 

Q.

What technology do I need to participate in the virtual conference?

A.

You will need a reliable internet connection and a computer (desktop, laptop, or tablet) with audio, and a valid conference registration link. The virtual conference platform is compatible with both PC and Mac computers. Participants must have Foxfire Browser or Google Chrome.  Safari is not supported by this platform.  It is not recommended to use a mobile phone.

 

Q.

Will conference presentations and other content be available on-demand?

A.

Yes, but you must register in order to view the on-demand conference and print CME/CPD credits or Certificate of Attendance certificates.

 

Q.

Will sessions be interactive with real-time Q&A?

A.

Yes. Conference sessions will be interactive with a Q&A period at the end of each presentation or session.

 

Q.

Will there be an exhibition hall?

A.

There will be a Virtual Exhibition Hall.

Q.

Will CME/CPD Credit(s) – European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) credits be available?

A.

An application has been made to the UEMS EACCME® for CPD accreditation of this event.
Yes. CME/CPD certificates, including certificates of attendance, will be available for download to participants who have attended and evaluated the livestreamed four-hour general session

May I submit more than one abstract?

A.

Yes, you may submit multiple abstracts.

May I submit an encore abstract?

A.

Yes.

 

Q.

Can I resubmit an abstract I have submitted to this conference for the TOXINS 2022 live conference in Gothenburg, Sweden?

A.

No, unless the data has been updated or new data is being presented.

Q.

After I have submitted an abstract, when will I hear if it has been accepted?

A.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference Organizing Committee on a rolling basis until the final abstract submission deadline. Corresponding authors can expect to receive notification regarding the status of their abstracts within 6 weeks of submission.

Q.

Once an abstract has been accepted, what are the next steps?

A.

Authors of accepted abstracts will receive an email with a proof showing how the abstract will appear online.  There will be a deadline date by which corrections must be made and approval provided.  Once this deadline has passed there will be no further opportunity to make changes to the abstract. 

 

Q.

Will there be an abstract or poster session during the virtual conference?

A.

Authors of accepted abstracts for the Virtual Poster Hall will have the opportunity to submit a PDF of and/or a 10-minute presentation of  their posters (including slides with audio and/or video, prepared at their own expense).  The presentations will not be downloadable but will be available on demand from the conference website for 6 months post-conference.  A feature enabling participants to submit questions to the presenters will be optional.

 

Q.

What information is required to be eligible for Poster Awards?

A.

Fellows, Residents and Early Career attendees may submit their abstracts for consideration for the Abstract Poster Awards. To be eligible, applicants must currently be in training or within 5 years of completing formal course work/training (ie, PhD, master’s program, residency, or fellowship). The winners of the Abstract Poster Awards will be selected by the TOXINS Organizing Committee prior to the conference and will be announced on the INA website and featured prominently in the Virtual Poster Hall. Award winners will receive free registration to the in-person TOXINS conference to be held in 2022.

 

Q.

Will accepted abstract(s) be published in a journal?

A.

Accepted abstracts will be published in an online supplement issue of the journal Toxicon with open access for 6 months.

 

Q.

Can I withdraw my abstract after submission?

A.

You may withdraw your abstract after submission. If you wish to do so, please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to rose.puleo@neurotoxins.org. Abstracts may be withdrawn by 12:00 midnight Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, 30 October 2020.
